Our topic is
Week beginning 01/07/19
This week we are beginning to think about becoming Year 1s! We will be making 'All About Me' booklets to give to our new teacher and spending time with Miss Bennett in the Year 1 classrooms to prepare for September. We will have lots of opportunities to ask questions about our new class and think about what might be worrying us as well as what we are excited about.
We are also going to use the computer to make a page for our "Amazing Animals" book. We will choose an animal we want to write about and use the internet to find a picture of them. We will then type out a sentences to go with the picture.
As always, we have many opportunities for children to explore their learning independently. Some activities that they may take part in this week are:
Dates for the diary:
Monday 3rd June: School re opens for Summer Term 2
Wednesday 3rd July: Transition morning
Thursday 4th July: Trip to Pennywell farm
Friday 5th July: Performing Arts show and Summer Fayre
Week beginning 8th July: Sports week
Thursday 11th July: Sports day
Monday 15th: Topic Landing day
At Bradley Barton we promote Learning to Learn values and, this half term, we will be focusing on what these mean. We are all learning how to be collaborative, reflective, pro-active and motivated.
We love seeing the learning that the Robins are doing at home! Please feel free to send in anything that your child is proud of so we can celebrate this as a class!
Home Learning can be found at the top of this page - follow the homework link.
Please continue to read with your child and practise the phonic sounds identified in reading diaries.
Reading books are changed every Wednesday. We invite parents to change books at the end of the day if required.
As the weather changes please ensure that your child comes to school with appropriate clothing. Children have access to the outdoors so will need a named coat every day. If you have a pair of wellington boots your child can use at school please put these in a named bag which can be kept on their peg.
It is really important that the children stay hydrated throughout the day and we encourage all children to bring a bottle to school. These are kept in the classroom and can be accessed at any time. Bottles should only contain water.
Children are encouraged to bring hats and sun cream to school as the weather gets warner. Please ensure that all items have names clearly written on them.
