Kestrels (Year 5)

Welcome to Kestrels

Mr Easterbrook

Welcome to the Kestrels’ class page. Mr. Easterbrook is Kestrels’ class teacher, and Miss Budd, Mr. Burford and Mrs. Williams will also work in the class at different times during the week. The children may also work with Mrs. Heywood, Miss Hedge, Miss Hedge and the other teachers in the upstairs corridors at different times.

Collaboration with Other Classes

Kestrels will be working closely with Peregrines this year, sharing all of our planning together so that all Year Five children receive equal opportunities.

Class Dojo

This year, we will continue to use Class Dojo. This will allow you to see dojo points that your child earns, which will also be translated into House Points, as well as being notified about missing homework or PE kits. There is also a section where I will post any interesting things the class is doing and any reminders of special things that need to be brought in. There is also a messenger section where you can communicate with me directly should you wish to do so.

We have a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities across Year 5 and 6 and would love to see all of the children getting involved with as many clubs as possible. Club details will be sent via School Gateway before a club is due to begin. Please ensure that children are signed up in good time so they don't miss any opportunities. To check whether or not a club is going to be on each week, please see the notice boards on the school gates or the ‘clubs’ section of the school website. If a club needs to be cancelled due to bad weather or staff illness, parents will be notified by text message as soon as possible on the day. If your child is selected to represent the school for a competition, letters will come home before the event and need to be returned as soon as possible to ensure that the competition can take place.

Any Questions

If you ever have any questions or comments, I will be out at the end of most days with the class so you are welcome to come and see me then or, if you wish for a longer discussion, please make an appointment with the office. I can also be reached via Class Dojo, and will be happy to communicate with you through that if you would prefer.
