Retrieval strategies

Above are some of the strategies we have used successfully in school. Some are more easily used in a home setting, and have been placed at the start of the list (e.g. Rerieve, record, review), whilst others rely on cooperation between learners (e.g. Quiz, quiz, trade), and have been placed towards the end. However, all could be adapted to suit the needs and interests of your child. Please contact you child's class teacher, who would be happy to provide any clarification.

Your child will know the strategies they have used in school, but as with all things, keeping a varied diet is key, and different strategies will suit the learning styles of different children.
