Year 2 Homework

  • Each week we expect your child to read at least 3 times.
  • Each week your child will bring home a set of spellings to practise. They can do this however they wish using one of the strategies they know. These include rainbow writing, speed writing, pyramid spelling, shape spelling or making up silly mnemonics.

  • Each week your child will bring home some maths homework, related to number. Your child is expected to know many number facts off by heart, that can be instantly recalled. The "over learning" of number facts is important to support your child in memorising them. Your child will then be able to use and apply this knowledge to support all aspects of the maths curriculum.
  • Your child should continue to use Mathletics as an excellent resource to practise key maths skills.    https://community.mathletics.com/signin/#/student
