  • Attendance

It is a government legal requirement that all children attend school for 190 days each academic year.

The government requires that schools monitor attendance and ensure the legal requirement is achieved wherever possible.

Bradley Barton Primary School is striving to achieve our goal of 97.5% attendance.  It is our policy that all children’s attendance that falls above this will be celebrated, and that systematic support and challenge is put in place where this is not likely to be achieved. We recognise that good attendance is central to raising standards and pupil attainment.

With the above statement in mind, we strive to underpin our school ethos to:

    • Support pupils and their parents/carers in achieving the highest possible level of attendance and punctuality
    • Promote children’s welfare and safeguarding
    • Ensure every pupil has access to a full-time education which they are entitled to
    • Ensure that pupils succeed and realise their full potential whilst at school
    • Make parents/carers aware of their legal responsibilities

The Attendance Team, Mrs C Massey, Mrs Weatherdon and Mr Page, aim to support families through positive intervention and approach. We are always available to help support your child's attendance.
