Miss Austin and Mrs Storer will be leading the school council in 2013. The school council have an important role to play in helping lead, develop and evaluate our school.
It's a brand new year with a brand new school council. You can meet the reps through the attachment below. This year we aim to raise as much money as possible for different charities including Clic Sargent. We will go on learning walks, talk to our classmates and use questionnaires to help monitor and improve collaboration in our school.
We are very committed to our fund raising responsibilities this year and are already involved in organising a collaborative event for Children In Need. We will be meeting in November to plan a Christmas fundraiser for Clic Sargent.
We have a new notice board in our school hall which will give you lots of information about what we have been doing in school. You can look there, or ask your class representative for help with anything you may need. Don't forget to read the minutes from our latest meeting too.
Please keep visiting our website page to find out more about what the school council are up to this year!
We will be having learning walks and talks with our fellow classmates and hope to continue collaborating with Highweek Primary School to share ideas and look at learning styles in different settings. We will upload the outcomes on our page and in the newsletter.

We have held our first school council meeting of the year and the minutes and details can be found at the bottom of this page.
We are planning a fundraising event for Children in Need on Friday 15th November. We will be inviting children to bring in coins to work together as a class to fill in individual Pudsey shapes. We will also take part in a human chain around the school.
We went on a learning walk to identify areas that promoted vocabulary and collaboration in classrooms. We really enjoyed looking around school and seeing the fantastic learning that is taking place in individual classes. Our feedback from this learning walk is attached below.
Our next meeting is on 26th November and don't forget that we are raising money for Children in Need on Friday 15th November by filling Pudsey with pennies. Remember to bring in your loose change to support this. Thank you.
We met on the 26th November as a whole school council to discuss the outcomes of our learning walk. We are going to feedback to individual classes about the 'tickled pink's' and 'green for growth's' in each area.
We are pleased to share that so far this year we have raised £50 from our Harvest Sale and a massive £470 for Children in Need. A huge thank you to Mrs Storer for organising the Harvest Sale and also to all of our families for buying the food bags and bringing in your pennies to fill Pudsey for CIN. Your amazing!! We hope to arrange another fundraiser before Christmas with a festive theme.
We have made arrangements with Highweek Primary School for their school council to join us for lunch and share ideas and developments around collaboration in school. We liased with them last year and this proved very successful, it is great to share our learning within the community.
Two of our school council members are involved with NALC (Newton Abbot Learning Community) and have attended their first community school council meeting of the year. They discussed how Newton Abbot could be improved and made safer for children and some great ideas were shared.
Our next meeting is on Tues 4th February at 1.30pm. Minutes from our last meeting can be accessed through the link below.
